2012 Tournament dates
Juniors - Wednesday to Friday - July 18th, 19th & 20th
Adults - Saturday & Sunday - July 21st & 22nd
This year, Benenden Tennis Tournament (Wednesday) clashes with the prep schools tennis tournament at Queenswood (IAPS).
To enable children to play in both events we are changing the age groups for Wednesday and Thursday for 2012 only.
Wednesday will now be Year 5 & below and Year 9 & above
Thursday will now be Years 6, 7 & 8
Friday remains the same, ie Mixed Doubles, All Ages
Founded in the 1930s, the Benenden Tennis Tournament takes place annually in July in the grounds of Benenden School in Kent, by kind
permission of the Headmistress.
Over the years, three generations of tennis players have enjoyed friendly, competitive tennis on the eleven all-weather courts in this beautiful setting.
The tournament has gone from strength to strength, raising thousands of pounds every year for national and local charities.
Benenden is a very sociable tournament and families come for the day, enjoying their picnics under the trees in the Lime Walk.
There is a wonderful atmosphere; home made cakes and hot and cold drinks are served in the marquee and there are sports equipment stalls, a racquet-stringing
service and an exciting raffle, with prizes donated by local companies.
In 2012 we will be sending the junior and adult tournament entry forms out electronically. This will save the cost of printing, paper and postage which will maximise the money donated
to the charities we support.
We will also send out updates on next year's tournament and keep you informed of relevant information from this years event. So it would help us enormously if you would use the form below to let us have your email address.
Parents please be advised that there is a new car park at Benenden School which children may choose to cross when walking to the lower courts.
Player's parents will be using this car park all day so please be aware of reversing cars and ask children to be especially vigilant. Please also
remember that the one way system will be in operation so please enter via the main South Lodge gates.
